Periodontist Dr. Roger Robinson

Dr. Roger D. Robinson Jr. attended the University of South Florida in Tampa where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology with an emphasis in computers. He then served six years as a United States Air Force officer specializing in Software Engineer projects. After leaving Air Force Space Command, Dr. Robinson entered the civilian arena, participating in the development of satellite imaging and flight control software for several commercial and military programs.

Having an adventurous spirit, a calling to learn the healing arts and a wonderfully supportive wife, Dr. Robinson entered the field of Dentistry. He attended the University of Kentucky, College of Dentistry in Lexington where he earned his dental degree. Graduating in the top of his class he was accepted into the UK Periodontology surgical residency which specialized in dental implants and regeneration techniques.

During dental school Dr. Robinson and his wife Laurie were blessed with two healthy loving children Christopher and Sarah. He then moved his family back to Florida where they settled in Jacksonville. Dr. Robinson was fortunate to acquire the practice of outstanding periodontist Dr. Michael Chanatry. Beginning in 2011 Dr. Robinson and Dr. Chanatry worked together as colleagues until Dr. Chanatry retired in 2015. Since then, Dr. Robinson has continued the legacy of Dr. Chanatry with “Excellence Always” as the predominate motto of the practice.

Dr. Robinson has professional memberships with the America Dental Association (ADA), Florida Dental Association (FDA) Northeast District Dental Association (NEDDA), Jacksonville Dental Society (JDS), American Academy of Periodontology (AAP), Florida Association of Periodontists (FAP), and the International College of Dentistry (ICD). He has served as president for the NEDDA and the FAP. He has participated in organized dentistry for the betterment of the profession and served the community through various events such as The Mission of Mercy. Furthermore, Dr. Robinson is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology which represents a personal and professional commitment to the standards of periodontics, lifelong learning, and continuing certification over his professional career. Board certified periodontists are members of a distinguished group of practitioners who have made significant achievements beyond the mandatory educational requirements of the specialty.
